Remington College recently announced a new Culinary Skills Essentials Diploma program at the Memphis campus. Because the college aims to help students learn from the best experts in their fields, Remington has partnered with the renowned Kathy Wakile for 'Remington College presents Kathy Wakile's Real Culinary Kitchen.'
A reality celebrity, national best-selling author, entrepreneur, restaurateur and dessert expert, Kathy Wakile has turned her passion into a successful business. Now, she will serve as an inspiration and role model to Culinary Skills Essentials students in Tennessee.
Those students will also have the best tools to help them succeed. Wakile has worked with Remington College to build a modern and functional culinary lab for students as part of the College's Culinary Training Center.
Finally, students in Remington College's Culinary Skills Essentials Diploma program will receive a wide base of training in foodservice operations, best practices, safety and sanitation. They receive hands-on experience working in an instructor-supervised kitchen as well as training in restaurant management, nutrition, event planning and small business management.
Some of the coursework is completed online to provide flexibility and the opportunity to learn the background information needed before beginning the cooking classes in the kitchen. In as few as eight months, the training program will give students the opportunity to learn the practical skills and knowledge necessary to prepare appetizers, sauces, entrees and desserts.1
With a strong background in culinary essentials, students may be ready for a number of positions in the foodservice industry.2
